Paul Konerko to Boston??

UB was listening to The Dan Patrick Show on ESPN Radio 890-am Boston just an hour ago when Patrick welcomed Chicago White Sox First Baseman Paul Konerko (seen above hitting a grand slam in Game 2 of the World Series). They had the usual jibba jabba between a talk show host and a guy playing in the World Series, until Patrick brought up the subject that Konerko will be a free agent at the end of the year. Patrick said that Konerko has family in Rhode Island and asked Paul if he had thought about joining the Red Sox. Konerko said he had read several articles about the Red Sox being interested in his services at First Base for the 2006 season and said he did have family in Rhode Island, but wasn't sure how the off season would go. What amazed UB was the fact that he didn't brush it off with an, "I'm focused on winning a World Series right now" type of comment, instead showing some interest in his 2006 possibilities. He even took a shot at Chicago ownership saying they might not be happy with the way things pan out...The Red Sox were the only team mentioned as suitors for Konerko...
