Bronson Arroyo tried to use his mind tricks on Blue Jay batters, but was still shelled for 7 runs in 3 innings. Bronson appeared to finally have things figured out after going 3-0 in his last 4 starts, but he was hit hard for the majority of his outing.

Jennifer Garner's favorite, Big Papi David Ortiz tried to fight the overshift with a bunt late in the game, hoping to give the Sox runners. Sox bats had chances all night leaving double digits in runners on base. In the 3rd inning, after falling behind 5-0 they had runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out, Ortiz flew out, Manny Ramirez struck out, Jason Varitek walked and Kevin Millar popped out. The loss, coupled with a Yankoff win put the Sox a game back...Slip, slidding away...
