KO'd in KC, Pats lose meaningless game

So the Patriots defense got lit up again, and like previous games it was the banged up secondary that was the biggest problem. But after a loss that dropped them to 6-5 on the season, your Uncle Buck says the game was meaningless and the Patriots are still headed to the playoffs.

Cornerback Asante Samuel was continually burned for big plays and the rest of the D was unable to stop the KC running game, as Larry Johnson ran for 119 yards on 31 carries, including a touchdown.

On the offensive side of the ball the Pats never really got it going. Trailing 26-3 in the 3rd Quarter, they finally got it together, but Tom Brady threw four picks on the day. While those balls were tipped, Brady was throwing high and was wild on other throws.

The Patriots now look to the last 5 games starting next week with the New Jersey Jets. The Pats are still on the fast track to the AFC East title, and barring a major collapse will make it 4 out of 5 years as Division Champions. That will leave them with the home Wild Card game. The biggest hopes for a Patriots fan now is that they can figure out some sort of consistency in the defense and get players like Corey Dillon healthy for the playoffs.
