Next for the Celtics...Cheerleaders?

The Celtics finally gave in to the NBA Friday night when they unveiled their new alternative jerseys. Your Uncle Buck remembers the days when Red would only allow Celtics players to wear black shoes with the uniforms and now we're on to a 3rd jersey...Anyway they won the game against the Charlotte Bobcats with a last second layup by Paul Pierce, 90-89.

The Celtics have been pretty exciting to watch at the end of games, as it seems like they win or lose each game on the last shot...But now they do it in solid green with some black and Boston on the front and a shamrock...By the way that photo is not the winning layup, but you get the idea...

UB heard that the Bruins played a home game earlier in the day, losing their 8th strait...That may be true if they Bruins were not dead to UB...

Bill Russell's Celtics were the last to wear the green away jersey with "Boston" on the front...

...and he got a lot of rings...Hum, does this mean the same thing for these Celtics? Green 17?

You know, cheerleaders might not be a bad idea...

I think the Celtics' best uniform is still the green jersey and the black rubber shoes. And the Celtics having cheerleaders is not a bad idea at all.
