Sweet 15, Sox lay smackdown on D-Rays...Finally

The Red Sox let out all their pent up frustration Tuesday night with a 15-2 thrashing of the Devil Rays. The win keeps the Sox a half game ahead of the Yankoffs who again won over Baltimore.

"Anything you can do...": Sox sluggers David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez had 2 home runs each and 7 RBI combined. Big Papi Ortiz started the game off with a 2 run home run in the 1st then had another 2 run shot in his next at-bat in the 3rd. All total Papi had 3 strait HR at-bats, counting his last at bat Monday night.

Curt Schilling had one of his best outings of the year, allowing only two runs and six hits, and striking out seven and walking one in seven innings to improve to 2-3 in six starts since returning to the rotation on August 25th.

Meanwhile, Chicago White Sox's Joe Crede hit a walk-off home run to defeat the Cleveland Indians 7-6 in the bottom of the 10th inning. The Cleveland loss drops the Indians to only a half game up on the Yankoffs for the Wild Card. Cleveland and the Red Sox have identical records at 88-63.

With the first win, Heather removed her socks. Remember Red Sox, "every time we win, we peel a section!"
