Papi, Tek Grrrrreat against Tigers' pen

With the Sox trailing 3-2 in the 9th and the Yankoffs leading the D-Rays in the 9th with Rivera on the mound things were looking pretty bleak...That's when Big Papi David Ortiz took matters into his own hands and smashed a solo shot to tie the game at 3...Meanwhile Eduardo Perez of the Rays was beating the Yankoffs by himself, taking their "Mr. Coffee" Mariano Rivera deep to tie that game at 3 in the bottom of the 9th (Perez had hit a 2 run shot off Johnson earlier in the game).

''It appears our Mr. Coffee is broken too, sir!''

In extra innings the Sox suddenly turned a 3-3 tie into a 10-3 lead (which was made closer after 4 run bottom of the inning by the Tigers) with a 3 run HR by Papi again and a 2 run shot by O'Captain, My Captain Jason Varitek. Both had 4 RBI on the night...And in Tampa the Red Sox spy Alan Embree gave up a hit and Scott Proctor followed that up with 3 strait walks, including the 4-3 winner in the 11th...Sox get a game back and lead the east by 4.5...

''Can anyone close in this league?''
