Tigers attack in the 9th, Schilling blows win


The bottom finally fell out for Curt Schilling in the closer role. Schilling entered the game with a two-run lead with two outs in the eighth and struck out Curtis Granderson to end the inning. In the ninth, he gave up three runs on four hits and a walk. Since being moved to the pen Schilling had converted nine saves in 10 opportunities, but had given up four runs on four hits, including three homers, in his two previous appearances. The loss and a Yankoffs win puts the Sox 3.5 up in the East...
