Today's episode has been sponsored by the letter "L"

L as in lefty. L as in loser. Whenever the Red Sox are matched up with a lefthander that seems to be the outcome and it was no different Tuesday against Tampa Bay. Sox bats were again helpless in the early going, this time against former Sox prospect Casey Fossum. By the time the Sox came back to tie the game at 3 on a David Ortiz solo home run, Curt Schilling (apparently any thoughts that he would throw a shut out to show Ozzie Guillen he screwed up by not naming him to the All-Star team were wrong) gave it back with his 3rd home run of the game, this time to Ty Wigginton. From there the D-Rays bats took turns beating up Mike Timlin for 5 runs. When it was all over the Sox had suffered their 2nd strait loss, 9-6.

Also, any fans hoping to see 3 Red Sox start the All-Star game are out of luck. Manny Ramirez injured his "I don't feel like playing" muscle and will sit out the game after all. So Sox fans will have to be satisfied with David Ortiz at 1st and Mark Loretta at 2nd.

On the plus side, if there is one, the Yankoffs got creamed 19-1 in Cleveland last night on George Steinbrenner's birthday. While that was quite a pasting, your Uncle Buck can almost guarantee that the Yankoffs will come back to win tonight's game...Just because that is the way it always happens...

George Costanza: I think it's time for George's lunch.

George Steinbrenner: Yes, it is. Let's see what I got today. Ham and cheese again. And she forgot the fancy mustard. I love that fancy mustard. You could put that fancy mustard on a shoe and it would taste pretty good to me.
