Willie Walks: Tired of waiting, McGinest signs with Cleveland

WEEI is reporting that Patriots Defensive End Willie McGinest has signed on to play with former Pats coach Romeo Crennel and the Cleveland Browns. Willie, who was expected to resign with the Pats for a reduced number, was apparently tired of waiting for the team to make a move and instead signed with Cleveland. McGinest said earlier in the week that the Patriots had yet to contact him after cutting him in a salary move.

Willie went to 4 Super Bowls with the Pats, winning 3 titles. Just last year he set the all time playoff sack record as well as the single game record in a Wild Card round win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. McGinnest was the 1st draft pick of Owner Robert Kraft, taking him 4th overall in 1994 from USC. Willie played in every game of the 21 consecutive game winning streak.

McGinest signed a three-year, $12 million contract with the Browns that includes $6 million in guaranteed money.
