Bruins chum for Sharks; Thornton reeled in after drilling Gill

With just over 5 minutes gone by into Tuesday night's game the much anticipated return of Joe Thornton ended as Thornton was ejected for checking Hal Gill from behind. The rest of the game was a formality as the San Jose Sharks chomped on the B's 6-2.

Thornton was says he was in shock that he got a game misconduct and an automatic ejection 5:13 into the game. Even Gill was surprised. Thornton said it was a disappointment that the Bruins fans that turned out to see him and he was removed from the game so quickly, but "at least they got to see a Sharks win."

There were reportedly a lot of Sharks fans at the Garden, rather than traveling across the country, UB guesses that most of them have turned on the B's and joined the Sharks fan base...UB can't really say he blames them...

Thornton, the NHL's leader in assists, is still the Bruins points leader...even though they traded him on November 30th.
