Damn Dolphins postpone Pats pennant

Well I guess you can blame your Uncle Buck for jinxing the Patriots yesterday as a Miami win over San Diego postponed the Pats winning the AFC East for at least one more week. UB was so sure of a Charger win that he didn't even mention that the Pats would not win the division if Miami won, until about an hour after his post when he thought maybe he should mention it.

The Pats crushed Buffalo 35-7 in a game that wasn't that close. It started off ugly as the Pats went 3-and-out on their first drive, which included a Tom Brady sack. They went 3-and-out on their 2nd drive, then went on to break a franchise record for 1st downs in a game the rest of the way.

Brady was 29-of-38 for 329 yards passing, two passing touchdowns and one running. He did throw two picks, one was tipped, when the Pats appeared to be going in to score. The Pats, who improved to 8-5 on the year, are now 14-0 with Brady at the helm and the temperature 35 degrees or colder.

Buffalo RB Willis McGahee, who weeks earlier described himself as the best RB in the game, was held to 3 yards on 8 carries...for a pathetic 0.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Corey Dillon had 102 yards rushing and a touchdown.

J.P. Losman was crushed all day, throwing 3 picks. He did connect for a 51-yard TD in the closing minutes, and with that threw for a total of 181 yards. Oh yeah, he was the team's leading rusher...with 7 yards on 1 carry...nice work J.P.!

Pats fans took over the stadium late in the 3rd. UB went to Buffalo in 2001 to see the Pats beat the Bills 12-9 in a wild OT game on their way to their 1st Super Bowl title. So next Sunday the Pats will have a chance to wrap up the AFC East with a win over Tampa Bay...or a Dolphins loss...UB didn't forget to mention it that time!
