Big Pappy takes spinach in 9th, LAAys out Angels

"David Ortiz, #34, The greatest clutch hitter in the history of the Boston Red Sox." On the same night that Big Papi received a plaque from Red Sox owner John Henry, he delivers another dramatic win, 3-2, with a home run in the 9th inning. Ortiz's solo shot off Scot Shields was another crushing blow for the Angels who had to watch Papi walk off with the game winner in the 3-0 series sweep in the 2004 ALDS...

Tim Wakefield improved to 15-10 with arguably his strongest outing of the year, going 9 innings and allowing only the 2 runs. Defense got him out of a jam in the 9th, while the Sox bats were held in check with runners in scoring position all night...

The Angels have seen this film before...
